We aim to help young people to reach their fullest potential by offering a caring home environment that provides them with structure, stability and bespoke packages of support to address their individual needs.
We promote a culture that is inclusive and embraces diversity.
Our environment is one where we help young people to effectively problem-solve, with some scope for making mistakes, but where they are guided to learn from their mistakes.
Our homes prepare young people with life skills and interpersonal skills to help them transition successfully into adulthood and independence within the community as effective members of society.
We take each person as a unique individual and work with them so they can feel safe and secure.
The welfare of the young person is paramount. This is the foremost principle and supersedes all others and everyone involved in ensuring and promoting the young person’s welfare should consult, co-operate and co-ordinate their activities to achieve the best results for the young person.
Assist in promoting the young person’s self-esteem and sense of worth and encourage the young person in increasing social skills, problem solving skills, behaviour management, communications skills and self-care skills.
Provide the living environment that meets the appropriate health and safety legislation paying particular attention to the issue of fire safety and carbon monoxide safety.
The young person’s religion, racial origin, culture, sexuality and language are taken into consideration at all stages of planning.
We believe everyone has a responsibility to promote the welfare of all young people, to keep them safe and to practise in a way that protects them.
We will make sure that all young people have the same protection regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

A safe place to call Home
Our semi-independent homes are staffed 24 hours by a member of our team. The level of support provided will be accordance to what is required and in consultation with the placing authority to meet individual needs.
We regularly assess and document every aspect of the young person’s daily living to establish their level of independence and what areas require support to develop.
We also encourage and support young people in accessing employment, education and training.
Our regular Key-working sessions help young people build up skills in areas that require extra provision until a safe level of independence is achieved and young people can then be supported in the transition to their own home.
Research tells us that young people in the care of local authorities who are seeking to gain life skills and independence, encounter limited options in obtaining the necessary services.
This is where our semi-independent accommodations address the gap in provision.
Our homes are designed to create an independent living environment, while still maintaining a homely atmosphere. The property lends itself well to allow privacy and social functioning in order to ensure that young people feel at home.
We accommodate young people of 16 - 25 years that need short-term to long-term accommodation.
We consider all young people from different backgrounds that are referred to us by the local authority, nationwide.
For us to make an informed decision, we ask that local authorities send a comprehensive referral to our placements team, highlighting the young person’s behaviours, needs and background history.
We provide accommodation for young persons in emergency or unplanned housing needs. In these instances, the placing authority must take all steps to provide as much information as possible on the relevant risks and needs of the young person.
Our placements team will review the information and liaise with management to determine best suited placement for the young person.
We will always be mindful of a young person’s cultural and religious values.
Young Stars Group appreciates and promotes the importance of contact for young people with their families, friends and any significant others.
We also appreciate there are certain circumstances where contact for a young person with certain persons is inappropriate and may even place the young person in a position of significant risk.
Any specific contact arrangements should be detailed in the young person’s written care plan.
We offer a congenial and welcoming setting for visitors. Transportation and staffing can be made available to facilitate meetings off site with prior arrangement, to be agreed by the placing authority.
Consequently, we seek to confirm contact arrangements and restrictions as soon as possible with the placing authority.
We encourage contact between a young person and their relatives
and friends unless it is detrimental to their welfare.
Staff can facilitate supervised contact meetings with family depending on the assessed requirements of the client and prior agreement by the placing authority.
We will endeavour to be as flexible as possible in facilitating visits from parents who live some distance away, or who have irregular working hours.
All visits will be assessed beforehand to ensure the safety of all involved.
